Imaging Conference JAPAN 2010
Instruction for Paper Preparation

ISJ intends to publish both a hardcopy proceeding book and a CD-ROM as the digital proceeding book for the Imaging Conference JAPAN. The author is required to submit a CD-R disk where full paper (within 4 pages) PDF file and original MS-Word file are saved, as well as enclosing B/W printed hardcopy (to check layout on the press) to the ISJ office by April 14, 2010.
Document Specs
Prepare A4-size (297mm x 210mm) sheet, set all margins (left, right, top, and bottom) to 20.0 mm. Manuscript should be less or equal to 4 pages (The longer papers will be returned for revision). Color graphics (figures, photos) are available to be inserted but they are reproduced in B/W on the hardcopy proceeding (we can view color in the CD-ROM proceeding only). Please mind your colored graphics could be clearly visible on B/W hardcopy.
If you want to insert an optional graphic on CD-ROM proceeding to show illegible details on the hardcopy, please prepare a separate data file. We can include a link if the CD-ROM has enough volume remained.
Composition of the Manuscript
On the top of the first page, a paper title and information for author(s) should be written in one column format (underline the speaker name if 2 or more authors). Subsequently, Abstract of your research should be written with around 100 words (one column format). Body part with section title and/or subsection title should be started in 2 column format from the line below the abstract. You should give a footnote region on the bottom of the first page to indicate author's mailing address and e-mail address. Please do not put page numbers in your manuscript. You can find detail composition in the "Template file (MS-Word)" below.
Template for MS-Word
Please refer to the template file (MS-Word) for preparing the manuscript of this conference. The template helps you to make a well-formatted manuscript by overtyping the template document, i.e., Paper Title, Author Name(s), affiliation, Abstract, Section Title, Subsection Title, body, Figure and Table, Figure Caption, References, etc..
[Template file(MS-Word:75KB)]
Graphics
Prepare high-resolution graphics to keep fine and clear reproduction on a hardcopy proceeding. We recommend 350dpi or more for photos, and 1200dpi or more for drawings.
Embedded character size should be reproduced in 5 points or more, and line width in 0.3 points or more on a hardcopy.
Transparent graphic format (created by GIF, png or Office drawing tool) is prohibited from being inserted.
Conversion to PDF files
Set [Configuration] for conversion from [Microsoft Office] to [PDF] as [Press Quality], ([Smallest File Size] is strictly prohibited) and [Security] as [none].
Open the dialog of [Press-Quality / Adobe PDF configuration] and set [Compatible file type] as [Acrobat 5.0 (PDF 1.4)].
Subsequently, set [Font] as [Every font to be embedded].
The color document is accepted, if the file size is within the restriction (5MB). The compression tool is prohibited to apply.
Please keep the file name like the following; [familyname_firstname.pdf], for example, if your name is “ Hideki Matusi”, file mane is [matsui_hideki.pdf].
