Imaging Society of Japan Privacy Policy

The Imaging Society of Japan (hereinafter referred to as the Society) recognizes the importance of personal information and strives to appropriately handle the acquisition, use, and management of information that can identify specific individuals (hereinafter referred to as personal information) as follows.
1. Acquisition of personal information
The Society will acquire personal information to the extent necessary in order to provide services consistent with the Society’s business objectives. When acquiring personal information, we will clearly state the purpose and, in principle, it will be based on the will of the person providing the information.
2. Use of personal information
The Society uses acquired personal information to the extent necessary to achieve its purpose. However, if any of the following apply, the information may be used or provided for purposes other than the purpose of acquisition.
(1) When based on the provisions of laws and regulations
(2) When there is consent of the information provider
(3) When entrusting all or part of the handling of personal information to the extent necessary to achieve the business objectives of the Society (For example, when informing your name and address to a company that has outsourced services such as delivery, etc.)
(4) When providing information on various services of the Society, conducting surveys to improve services, or when other legitimate reasons are recognized at the general meeting or board of directors.
3. Management of personal information
The Society strives to manage the information in a necessary and appropriate manner to prevent the leakage, destruction, or falsification of acquired information to outside parties. However, information that has been disclosed by the provider or has already been made public is not subject to the management of this society.
4. Disclosure and correction of personal information, etc.
In principle, the Society will promptly respond to requests from personal information providers to disclose their personal information. In addition, if we receive a request to correct personal information about ourselves, we will, as a general rule, promptly correct it.
5. Handling on the website
Use of the Society’s website (hereinafter referred to as the “Site”) is at the user’s responsibility. The Society is not responsible for any damage caused by the use of various information obtained from other websites linked to this site.
6. Handling at events, etc.
At events hosted by the Society, the organizer may take photographs and videos. These may be published in the society’s journal, website, etc. Please note that this is especially likely for major speakers and award winners.
7. Changes to privacy policy
The Society may change its privacy policy without notice. The latest privacy policy will always be applied to personal information acquired by the Society. Any changes will be posted on the Society’s website and will become effective from the date of posting.
